Paradise Creek

Well, it's September now, but I'm finally posting those promised pictures of Paradise Creek! I hope you like pictures of trees and creeks...that's mostly what I've got! I had a great time running around with my camera taking pictures of those two things. :-)

I love moss, too.

This was our cozy camping spot.

We took a short hike along Falls Creek. This is Falls Creek Falls (I know, it's a really original name).

Looking back at the falls from the trail. You can actually get a better idea of how big it is from further away.

A little suspension bridge that crosses Falls Creek.

This is Paradise Creek, which we camped next to.

I had fun using my new tripod to take long exposure shots to catch the movement of the creek.

These shots are for my dad. He challenged me to take shots of the water bugs sitting on the surface of the water.

Paradise Creek Preview

We just got back from a really nice one-night camping trip to one of our favorite spots, Paradise Creek. It did my photographer's heart good, and I have multiple shots I'd like to share eventually, but for now I'll just post one to get started.

This is--can you guess??--Paradise Creek. :-)

A Hike with Family

Hi there! These pictures are about two months old, but better late than never, right? At the beginning of May, I had a wonderful time going to the Washington, D. C. area to visit my Uncle Dan and his family. It was great just to catch up with them and spend some time together.

One thing we did together was hiking Bull Run Mt. (As the name suggests, it's close to the historic battle field). There's a really  pretty view from the top. We had fun eating lunch while sitting near the edge of the cliffs looking over the valley.

The perfect picture frame. :-) This is the mill store next to Beverly Mill, at the bottom of Bull Run Mt.

Beverly Mill is a ruined mill that was built in 1742. It's amazing how old it is!

Random iPod Shots

Confession to make--I've been posting iPod photos on Instagram. For my blog-only viewers, here are some things I've shared there, but not here.

This was from our major snow storm last month. It was beautiful, but it was a hard time to be working for an airline!

Dark clouds and evening sun.

New violin music that I've been enjoying!

Cannon Beach (again)

How many times have I been to Cannon Beach? Not sure off the top of my head, but pretty much every time I go, I feel like I take the same pictures. I just have to! Of course each time will be a little bit different, too. We were back at Cannon Beach a couple weekends ago for a women's retreat with our church. The weather on Friday, the day we got there was just gorgeous--sunny and warm. The next day it poured. But I got in some nice beach pictures on Friday evening!

I wondered if I should crop out the dog in this first picture, but then, I guess dogs on the beach are a pretty quintessential part of Cannon Beach, too. :-)

This picture is actually a new view for me. Christina and I left the beach in order to get back to the conference center faster, and we ended up on this back road in between the houses and the beach. It's not nearly as wild a spot as it looks in this picture, but I loved the look of the sand dunes in front of Haystack Rock.
