Final Project

My photography class is over!  I think the final project turned out nicely.  I chose to do it on old barns.  The three represented by the pictures below are all on the Washington Heritage Barn Register.  All three are in northeast Clark County.  My apologies for the weird angles of these digital pictures of the originals.  I was using a tripod and couldn't get the camera centered directly over the photographs.

This one had some printing problems, so I didn't actually submit it.  However, it is the third barn (same one as the door picture above) so I've been keeping it with the rest.

Portraits

Again, my apologies for not blogging more often.  Sometimes there's just not that much to say.  So what have I been up to?  A lot of school.  This photography class I'm taking has ended up being really time consuming.  We have to do everything ourselves--film developing, dark room printing...it takes a long time.  I can't say I'm really good at the printing yet, and I've wasted a lot of expensive photo paper in the process.  However, it's all given me good experience in photography that will, hopefully, be useful in the future.  We just turned in our portrait assignment.  Here's some experimenting I did on the digital camera.

I thought these were really cool.  I set up my camera on my tripod and set it on timer and a really long shutter speed.  Partway through the exposure I moved away, and these were the result.
Christina and I also went out in the green space behind the house to do a photo shoot.  We had a really good time just messing around, and got some good pictures out of it.  We brought along some accessories to give Christina a kind of historical look.  The bottom one wasn't really planned, but I liked it even though it's a little washed out.  It was an unusually sunny day!

Now we have to do a final project.  I'll post on that when I finish it.
I'm also playing in the Clark College Orchestra right now.  We have a concert in about a week.  The theme for all the music we're playing this time is "France."  It's been pretty challenging.  I also picked up a new Whitefield class that I've been working on when I have time.  This one is Old Testament Survey.
So there's what I'm up to right now.  I'll have new things to write about soon, since this quarter's finishing up, and I'll be moving on to some new things.
