It's been raining a lot lately. I like to watch the way the rain hits the back deck, and I decided to play around with some raindrop shots. This is what I came up with. I put a high contrast black & white Lightroom preset on most of them, which brings out the lines and circles more. These shots ended up reminding me a little bit of shooting with black & white film.

Our family enjoys having a bird feeder right outside the kitchen window. Since we put up the suet cage again it seems like it's been especially busy out there. Some of our favorite visitors are the bushtits. They're extremely small and they really stick together. It's fun to watch a whole bunch of them crowd onto the suet cage at all these crazy angles. I took these pictures of the bushtits and a couple of the other birds we get while I was messing around with my telephoto lens.
