Ciabatta! It's homemade, crusty-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside bread with four simple ingredients. We love this bread. (Recipe here).
Homegrown cherry tomatoes. We like to pretend we're gardeners. :) Our yard is really too small for large harvests, but the tomatoes did really well this year.
That bread looks really yummy! It reminded me of a recipe I found a few weeks back that was super easy and tasted *amazing*! http://simplysogood.blogspot.com/2010/03/crusty-bread.html
ReplyDeleteJust thought I'd share that with you. :) Hope you're doing well, Ashley!
Hi Rebekah! Thanks for sharing the recipe. It seems that it uses a similar kind of dough. The flavors sound intriguing! I hope you're doing well, too! :-)
ReplyDeletehave you made open-faced sandwiches or paninis with your bread and tomatoes? I love using my panini press to make small sandwiches with artisan bread spread with basil pesto and layered with tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and drizzled with balsamic vinegar (over the cheese and tomatoes), then brush the outside of the bread with olive oil and toast until the cheese starts to melt... yum! You could even make your own mozzarella, I did that once and it was surprisingly easy, just takes a few hours before you have a soft ball that's ready to eat.
ReplyDeleteCaitlin--we haven't made sandwiches, but those sound really good! We did make some delicious pizza with Mom's larger tomatoes. Making mozzarella sounds fun, too.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh Ciabatta! That looks yummy. And your tomato pictures looks like it came out of a magazine. Wow, girl!
